Japanese alphabet is called 日本語のアルファベット (Nihongo no arufabetto). Japanese vowels are known as 母音 (Boin) and Japanese consonants are known as 子音 (Shiin). Japanese Alphabet has 46 letters/ characters and is a syllabic script. Japanese Alphabet has two types-

KANA & KANJI

• combination of chinese characters called kanji
• Kana has two types Hiragana, Katakana

> Katakana is an angular script

Japanese Consonants / 子音 Shiin
